Historic Spanish Point was the perfect location for our wedding and reception! Right on Little Sarasota Bay, we had the most amazing views, a cooling breeze, and stunning flora all around us. You get a beach-view wedding without the sand, and thanks to the constant breeze, you get an outdoor wedding and reception with less heat and no mosquitoes. The wedding staff, specifically Gilly, at Spanish Point were a pleasure to work with. They made everything easy. If you are looking to do an outdoor wedding in Sarasota, there is no better location than Spanish Point. Use the Pergola for the wedding, the White Cottage lawn for the reception. And you have a plethora of gorgeous locations for photos of the wedding party.

We had our wedding ceremony there in February. The weather was beautiful. The wedding coordinator handled everything, told everyone where to go and made sure everything was organized. After the ceremony we went around and took photos in some amazing locations around the

I had my wedding here during their holiday lights display and it was so incredibly beautiful. I am happy I chose this place as my venue.

Sunken Gardens are beautifully unique

I didn’t know what to expect at a historical preservation, but from the moment we set foot on the grounds of Historic Spanish Point, I knew I’d be returning on my wedding day. If you’re in search of a vintage, Old Florida style wedding, this venue is for you. The grounds offered too many beautiful locations to take photos that we had to narrow it down to 5 locations, which was still one too many. Our guests and vendors had so much fun with this hidden gem. The Sunken Garden venue is particularly unique and gorgeous and the staff is incredibly friendly, but neither hold a candle to the venue’s event coordinator Gilly Francis. She is a friendly warrior who kept us calm, cheerful and more importantly organized and on time. She graciously took us on a tour of the grounds, not once, not twice, but three times. First was our initial tour to see the entire grounds, the second was to go over lighting details in the reception area, and the last time was for a detailed walkthrough with our photographers. She kept everything running smoothly and kept watch over each vendor and each guest ensuring a successful and joyous occasion. Gilly was a guardian angel, always with a smile on her face, making our families and friends feel most welcome. Our only disappointment was that she was, of course, working and could not fully join in on the celebration. Gilly is a treasure for which Historic Spanish Point should be exceedingly grateful.
