This recently completed project will help you understand the benefits of our 74mm polycarbonate system and shows the versatility of our system for top end residential projects. Everbright E610 Clear was used on a rear pergola for a residential development in Sydney, NSW. Everbright E610 free spanned 3.3mtr incorporating Locking System LS2.1. Locking system LS2.1 simply means there is 1 aluminium locking bar required out of every 6 chambers. See design loads, which shows you in more detail the different locking systems available.
These panels were extruded, and supplied in complete 3.3mr lengths. The panels simply clip together making the installation process very rapid, as our product only requires to be joined every 600mm on site. Installation time for this project was one day and two tradesmen were available on site, keeping disruption down to a minimum. The total area was around 50sqm.
The design brief for this development was for a modern looking translucent system that would provide as much natural light as possible and would minimize structural requirements, thus providing a pleasant and comfortable environment to be usable space all year round.
The simple supporting timber structure made the construction process very simple and gave our client the desired effect.
In this open construction the roof was designed so air could easily circulate, thus providing a fresh air environment. Several other key factors also included a product that had a long life span and superior thermal performance.
The clients requirements made our polycarbonate system an obvious choice for this development and was a surprisingly affordable alternative, due to the minimal structure required. Additionally our system is manufactured in Western Australia and readily available from stock.
Our polycarbonate system give a seamless and continuous line, with no steel frame work spoiling the visual effect. E610 Integral locking bars hide the aspect of where a panel starts and where it finishes, so it becomes a continuous system giving a uniformed and conformed design feature. Creating an architectural flare, that isn’t possible with any other polycarbonate system available on the market. Our system only needs to be secured with washer and screw fixings provided to both the lower and higher end of the panels, all the joints are self sealing once the integral locking bar is fitted. Other systems would necessitate the need for a framed grid work support system across the entire roof.
Everbright E610 polycarbonate panels incorporate as standard detailing an excellent safety factor. All loading criteria are based on 0.75kN/sqm and a 50% safety factor as part of a standard specification detailing.
The installation process is very rapid and simple with our polycarbonate system. We can also advise that there was a significant cost saving on the structure requirements on this project.
